Mid-America Science Museum

Mid-America Science Museum

The Mid-America Science Museum, located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a pioneering institution dedicated to hands-on science education. Since its opening in 1979, the museum has become a major tourist attraction, featuring over 100 interactive exhibits across its 21-acre, wooded campus. It is well-known for housing the Guinness World Record's most powerful conical Tesla coil, which produces 1.5 million volts of "caged lightning" for visitors. Following a significant renovation in 2015, the museum added modern features like the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk, a treetop trail offering an outdoor learning experience, and the Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater for state-of-the-art space shows. As a Smithsonian Affiliate, the Mid-America Science Museum continues its mission to inspire curiosity and promote a lifelong interest in science for all ages.
